I’m Amie Downs, and I’ve served as a UNISON Convenor since 2023. My journey with the union began around 2015 when I stepped into the role of Women’s Officer, a position I am proud to still hold today. I am truly passionate about supporting our members through the challenges they face during their working lives, and I am committed to collaborating with both employees and management to achieve the best possible outcomes.

Having worked for Stoke-on-Trent City Council for nearly 20 years, split almost equally between Adults’ and Children’s Social Care, I have a first-hand understanding of the daily pressures you face.
