Who we are

UNISON Stoke-on-Trent & Newcastle Local Government Branch represents employees working across local government and private care in the Stoke-on-Trent and Newcastle-under-Lyme area and schools and academies in Stoke-on-Trent . As a Branch of UNISON, the UK’s largest trade union, we support workers who deliver vital services to local communities. UNISON has over 1.3 million members nationwide working across sectors such as local government, health, education and community services.

Our branch works to protect and improve the pay, terms and conditions of our members, while promoting fairness, equality and respect in the workplace. We provide advice, representation and support on employment matters, ensuring that staff have a strong voice when decisions affecting their work and wellbeing are made.

Through our network of trained workplace representatives and volunteers, we help members resolve issues with employers, access legal advice where necessary, and campaign for safe working environments and quality public services.
